To use the EIMS Public Portal safely and responsibly, it is important for users to follow certain basic security guidelines. These recommendations will help protect your personal information, device, and online activity.
1. Use the Correct Website
Before using the EIMS Public Portal, make sure you have accessed the correct, official website. Do not provide personal information through unknown, suspicious, or unverified links found on social media.
Verify the website's address, spelling, and secure-connection indicator. If in doubt, confirm using the information provided on the portal's official contact page.
2. Be Cautious Before Providing Personal Information
When filling out any form on the portal, provide only the information that is necessary and accurate. Before providing your National ID number, birth registration number, mobile number, email, address, or any other personal information, make sure the form is genuinely part of the official portal.
Never share unnecessary personal information, passwords, OTPs, bank/mobile financial service PINs, or other confidential information under any circumstances.
3. Keep Passwords and OTPs Secure
If any service requires login, registration, or verification, use a strong password. It is advisable to use a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Do not share OTPs, passwords, or account verification codes with anyone via phone call, message, email, or social media. The project authority or system administrator will never ask you for your password or OTP.
4. Caution When Using Public Devices
If you use the portal from a cyber café, someone else's mobile phone, a shared computer, or any other public device, be sure to log out once you have finished. Do not save passwords in the browser, and clear your browser history and autofill data after completing any forms.
5. Avoid Suspicious Emails, SMS, or Phone Calls
Be cautious of any suspicious email, SMS, phone call, or social media message claiming to be from EIMS or the EARN project. If someone pressures you for money, personal information, an OTP, a password, or a hasty decision, it may be an attempt at fraud.
Do not click links in such messages, do not download attached files, and do not provide any sensitive information.
6. Caution Regarding Certificate Verification
If the portal offers certificate verification, use only the necessary information to carry it out. Before sharing screenshots of verification results or sharing them without authorization, consider the privacy of the individual concerned.
Using fake certificates, altered documents, or unauthorized information may result in legal and administrative action.
7. Be Responsible When Submitting Opinions or Complaints
Provide accurate information when submitting an opinion, complaint, or suggestion. Refrain from submitting complaints that are irrelevant, false, defamatory, misleading, or that contain another person's personal information.
If a complaint concerns a sensitive matter such as harassment, security, discrimination, or personal harm, provide the necessary information carefully and avoid disclosing personal information unnecessarily.
8. Keep Devices and Browsers Updated
For safe use, keep your mobile phone, computer, operating system, and browser regularly updated. Do not install apps, files, or browser extensions from unknown sources.
9. Do Not Attempt Unauthorized Access
Attempting unauthorized access to any restricted section of the portal, administrative panel, database, API, or internal system is strictly prohibited. Searching for system vulnerabilities, altering data, generating excessive traffic, or attempting to disrupt security measures may lead to legal action.
10. Report Suspicious Activity
If, while using the portal, you notice incorrect information, a suspicious link, a security issue, an attempted fraud, or unauthorized activity, please report it to the relevant authority through the portal's "Contact" page or designated support channel.
2. What Type of Information May Be Collected
Depending on the type of service used on the portal, the following types of information may be collected:
